What’s up, golf fans?!
I was going to send this in the morning but figured it would be rather pointless considering half of the first round from the Open Championship would be over.
So instead, let’s keep you up to speed follow Day 1 from Royal St. George’s.
No. 1
Sweet Lou
Louis Oosthuizen is once again on top of a major championship leaderboard, a story you’ve heard twice this year already.
The South African fired a bogey-free 64 to lead Jordan Spieth and Brian Harman by one shot.
Louis was the runner-up at both the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, and is well on his way to securing at least another silver medal.
** I’d be remiss to not mention that my wife told me her pick was Stewart Cink in a delirious state at 5 a.m. this morning. Stewy fired 4-under and is only two back.**

Spieth looks dangerous
Spieth posted 65 to match the lowest score of his Open Championship career.
Everything that came out of Spieth’s mouth following his round screamed confidence and it will be shocking if he is not right in the thick of things late on Sunday.
Here’s a fun nugget.
Will he go three for three?

‘The driver sucks’
Despite the names at the top of the leaderboard, Bryson DeChambeau (once again) stole the show on Thursday.
The beefy American shot 1-over, where he found only 4-of-14 fairways, and sounded OFF on his driver after the round.
"If I can hit it down the middle of the fairway, that's great, but with the driver right now, the driver sucks," DeChambeau said.
"It's not a good face for me, and we're still trying to figure out how to make it good on the mishits," he said. "I'm living on the razor's edge like I've told people for a long time. When I did get it outside of the fairway, like in the first cut and whatnot, I catch jumpers out of there, and I couldn't control my wedges."
Well, folks, I guess don’t go buy a Cobra driver.

Cobra fires back
Ben Schomin of Cobra, who caddied for Bryson at the Rocket Mortgage, spoke to Golfweek and had some FIERY comments about DeChambeau’s outburst.
"It's just really, really painful when he says something that stupid," Schomin said
"He has never really been happy, ever. Like, it's very rare where he's happy. Now, he's in a place where he's swinging a 5-degree driver with 200 mph of ball speed. Everybody is looking for a magic bullet. Well, the magic bullet becomes harder and harder to find the faster you swing and the lower your loft gets.
And finally,
"It's like an eight-year-old that gets mad at you. They might fly off the handle and say, 'I hate you.' But then you go, 'Whoa, no you don't.'

For some laughs
Of course, Twitter had some fun with DeChambeau’s comments.
And you have to watch this all the way to the end 😂

Justine sounds off
When the tee times came out, everyone’s favorite burner account was fired up about the fact that Patrick Reed received another late-early draw.
And according to a weatherman that jumped on the broadcast, the wind is supposed to be stronger Friday morning then die off in the afternoon. Justine will be rattled.
No. 7
St. George himself
The head greenskeeper at Royal St. George’s, Paul Larsen, is a VIBE.
He stole the show Wednesday during the Golf Channel coverage. What an incredible look.
No. 8
Still the PGA Champ
Lefty posted the worst Open Championship round of his career with a 10-over 80.
He was Pheeling himself as he walked off the first tee absolutely chugging, what I am guessing was, a coffee.
Somehow he won the 2021 PGA, which becomes more unbelievable every time he tees it up.

Warning: Graphic Content
The following video of Will Zalatoris’ putting stroke will haunt you. Please watch with caution.
That’s all! Enjoy the rest of The Open!
See ya on the 1st tee,
